The Mountain Dulcimer Society of Dayton has been active for more than 40 years in the Miami Valley region, sharing our simple mountain instruments.
Our prime directive has always been “to advance, encourage, promote and develop, in the public, a greater awareness of early American music and its roots, as performed on the mountain dulcimer”. These ideals are still central to our mission, as we teach, perform for the public and generally bring the mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer and other folk instruments to the eyes and ears and hopefully the heart of the public.
Mountain Dulcimer Society of Dayton meets the first Saturday of the month. Beginners at 5:30 p.m.; Intermediate at 6:00 p.m.; Main Jam at 7:00 p.m. at the West Charleston Church of the Brethren, 4817 SR 202, Tipp City, Ohio.
