Terry Penkal is an active music entertainer in Southwest Ohio. You may have seen him at the Troy-Hayner Culture Center, Troy Strawberry Festival, Hummers Bar, Tipp City Hotel Gallery, American Legion Post 43, VFW Post 5436, Brukner Nature Center, Caesar’s Creek Pioneer Village, Hidden Valley Fruit Farm, among many other places and events in the area.
Terry often performs as a solo act but he is becoming more active in combo bands of 2 to 4 members. You may have seen him performing with other popular musicians and groups but the most regularly used ensemble members have been Terry Cruse, Curtis Duncan and Dave Denman. Combo names are “Penkal-Denman”, T-Squared”, “Equilateral” & “Penkal-Duncan”. The combos have been subject to venue requests and musician availability.
The music is primarily guitar and harmonized vocals of Oldies-Classic Country, Oldies-Classic Rock, Folk, Gospel and Popular Standards. You may even catch a Bluegrass tune. Most are cover songs from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s by the likes of Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Elvis Pressley, Buddy Holly, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Ricky Nelson, The Eagles, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Peter Paul & Mary, John Denver, Loggins and Messina etc. There’s bound to be something to get your toes tapping.
