Patty Frazee of Franklin, who serves as the band’s director, founded the Dedication Band.
“The Dedication Band was formed when I was asked to play my hammered dulcimer for the dedication of the Log Post office in Franklin in the Spring of 2003. I was really excited to play, but really wanted some company,” said Frazee, who was at the time “very much a new hammered dulcimer player.”
Patty began asking other people who played “old style” instruments to join her. This was the formation of the band known today as The Dedication Band.
The Mission of The Dedication Band:
To keep our musical heritage alive, in dress, in the use of historical musical instruments, and choice of music. Our program strives to educate the public about our musical past while maintaining an atmosphere of fun.
